Missing shade numbers
Just received this today & noticed that in the list of colours required to stitch it, two colours are named but there's no DMC colour number given. The unnumbered DMC colours are Blueberry - medium light and Blueberry - medium. A shade number for Blueberry - light is given as 3747.

Shade numbers for these two colours are given in Anchor cottons as 121 & 122, respectively.

So......do I stitch these two unnumbered DMC colours in the same Blueberry as the one that is numbered or are there two other shades that should be used?

I have attached a picture as well.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi! I'm sure customer service can answer better than I can (or one of the other stitchers). But what I see it looks like they planned it with Anchor floss (great floss, BTW). If you are using DMC floss, I'd just get the Anchor floss for those two colors, or try to match DMC to the Anchor. I'm sure there are reference charts out there for that. I hope this helps.

According to Cyberstitchers' DMC floss list:
DMC 3747 is "vy lt blue violet."
DMC 3746 is "dk blue violet."
DMC 155 is "md dk blue violet."
DMC 156 is "md lt blue violet."
I think I would get a skein of each, put them together, and see which three would work the best for you.
Hope this helps.

If it were my project I would simply purchase the Anchor flosses. I compared Cyberstitchers.com and Mystitchworld.com and they do not agree on the conversion. Cyberstitcher seems a bit undecided... So, your own opinion is as good as anybody's...actually, better!

I would simply purchase those 2 colors of Anchor floss and go from there. If you are happy with the resulting color palette, perfect! If not, then try a conversion. But as VCESS has mentioned, these don't always agree. Which ever you decide it will work. Happy stitching! Mary

Thanks, VCESS! I was not aware of Mystitchworld.com until you mentioned it. I'll know better from now on. I could not figure out why lyndell59's project referred to the DMC colors as Blueberry, but Cyberstitchers was calling it blue violet. Blueberry is the Anchor name! Duh!

I am just another cross stitcher but I remembered DMC came out with a blueberry in 2017. I got out my thread chart and looked them up.emu You could use the follow
32 Dark Blueberry for Medium Blueberry
31 Blueberry for Medium Light Blueberry
30 Medium Light for Blueberry Light
That is the order from dark to light

I am with VCESS on this one. Just buy the anchor colors. If the designer put all else in DMC but these are anchor it must be because the DMC is a shade or two off. Welcome back by the way VCESS! Missed your advice and wit!

Thanks for the welcome back, kids! 😃

I just finished rinsing a color floss for "You're Freakin' Meowt"...not my favorite thing to do, but I'm just glad to start a new small! 😃

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I ended up doing it in a combination of DMC & Anchor threads to get the shading correct. I am absolutely rapt with how it has turned out. The friends I have done it for became grandparents to a beautiful little girl. After I got started on it, I realized the predominant colour was blue. So substituted the lettering and the inner row of the border with the relevant medium, medium-light, etc., pinks. Also changed 'Grandmother' to 'Grandparent' and put both of their names on it and because they are Maori, changed 'grandchild' to the Maori word 'mokopuna'.

It turned out wonderful. Great job making the adjustments.
