Very Hetic Week
Today is the first time I have had a chance to sit down and catch up on Chat. My mother is in the hospital and I have been trying to get things done on their house in Oklahoma. They have a place here in S. Texas but it is 60 miles one way. Back in the day that was short mileage. Now it is very heavy traffic all the way pretty much. I spent yesterday evening just stitching on my HAED and enjoyed watching the cotton fields around me growing.

Why are hospitals so dang cold? My mom and I had to ask for a blanket while waiting for her to be called in for Pre Opt.

I was just reading on one of the posts that stitching is like meditation because you tune things out and focus on what is in front of you. It is so true.

The insides of hospitals are purposely kept cold to reduce the germ populations. ๐Ÿ˜ท

I noticed the coldness, especially near the large window, also last September when my DH was in the hospital for a week. I learned to wear layered clothing when I visited him. My DH also had to call the nurses for an extra blanket because he was cold. One of the nurses finally told him to put the warmed blanket against his skin, then add the other blankets over him. It helped. Duh!
I took my stitching with me every day to keep busy and it was a conversation piece with the nurses when they came in. I finished it and started another one.

Prayers going up for your Mom! Keep on stitching! I commend you on doing a HAED! I get bored very easily and that would take me years to finish (putting it down and picking it back up). You go Girl!

My mom is in a physical therapy rehab hospital now. She is doing much better. I have my father and their dog with me. I had them put her in a hospital that is closer to me so I am not driving 60 miles (one way) in really congested traffic. So things has settled down a bit. I took some me time yesterday and looked for some wind chimes at Hobby Lobby. Should of bought them when I saw them.

Now to train my dad not to talk to me when I am stitching. I would be stitching and he starts talking. He stops and as soon as I pick up my work he is talking again. Either to himself or to me.

Peace and happy stitching.

Glad your mom is doing better and your situation has improved. The stitching/talking situation is a natural phenomenon...I tried earphones, but it just added an extra "step". Good luck with THAT! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Good to hear your is Mom doing better and at a hospital that is closer. (smile) Your Dad sounds like he wants your undivided attention and not willing to let your stitching take precedence. PLUS your mom is in the hospital, so your Mom is not there to have their normal conversations together. Kudos to you for being such a good caregiver to both your parents, itโ€™s not an easy task...๐Ÿ™‚
