Considering......
Getting a new and UPDATED I-Phone. DH and I are still using I-phones that are about 8 years old and because they’re so old they don’t have the IOS capability to run certain things. Looking for suggestions of middle-priced phones. DH is satisfied with his because of the low monthly cost. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure if you want to stay with the Apple line or not. If this is within your budget you may want to look at the Google Pixel 3a. The Pixel line has been a good line regarding quality, warranty and customer service. These are Android based phones and in my not so humble opinion are better than the Apple line as Android is flexible when customizing the look and feel of the phone. That is of course personal preference. The Pixel 3a starts at $399.00 per phone which is considerably less than the Pixel 3 or the newest Apple iPhone.

Hope this helps!

Hi Bermuda,

I have the iPhone 8 Plus and just got my dad the new iPhone XR (got him switched from an Android) and my mom has an iPhone 6. I am Apple kind of girl and have the phone, ipads and iwatch :) I'd love to get a MAC someday, lol!

If you're wanting to stay on the iPhone route, I would suggest either the 6 or just regular 8. Those prices monthly should be considerably lower than the newer versions of the iPhones and the most recent iOS software is good to go on those currently.

Good luck and let us know what you guys decide!

I have the iPhone 8. What I usually do is go to a corporate AT&T, Sprint or Verizon store (T-Mobile) and compare the prices of the Iphones and the cost per month of the 16g, 32g or 64g phones and then go from there. Usually its what you want out of the phone. If you are like me and like to put stuff like Netflix or your bank's app on your phone access that is a consideration. Sometimes the providers have specials as well so look into those.

I don't know if this answers your question so I hope this helps in some of a way, Bermuda.

I'm with riosbogie, still using a flip-phone. DH and I share one, we have no need for an iPhone. We can text with the flip, but don't use it very often. We use it just for emergencies on the road. And I prefer a DSLR camera to a point and shoot iPhone camera. Call me old-fashioned or behind the times, I don't give a rip! 😁

I have an iphone 5s! I inherited my daughters old phone. I have only been
using a mobile phone for a few years. It keeps going. I use and ipad air at home
we are an Apple family which is good because we can ask for each other's help
if any weird thing happens or we don't understand a new thing. usually it is me
asking my daughter, "where is.... " or "how do you?". Several cute vintage Macs around too.

Thank you everyone for your help! First our phones are 8 years old; while not the only reason to upgrade, the older phones don’t have the technology needed for certain
I-Cloud capabilities that we need.
I’ll let you know what comes of this, because since my prior chat, DH has decided we’ll upgrade both of the I-phones, not just mine. I will be doing this tomorrow....
....why do I have this funny feeling that there is going to be another ‘adventure’ regarding this trip.....

I'll be watching...I've threatened and looked at the androids for years...I just don't use a phone to warrant the cost! Your life is probably different, but mine gets simpler every year...if I worked, volunteered, was more "connected" socially, I would pop for the flashy, high-tech, pretty toys. But really, all I NEED is text/email capability and a vocal communication device. SIGH. Boring!
