Bread cloths
I am looking for ready made bread cloths to stitch. I am finding the cost to be $10 or more. Does anyone know an inexpensive supplier? Or does anyone know what fabric I need to buy,cut and hem on my own?
Thank you!

Bread? I remember bread...it is a very special occasion to have real, honest-to-gosh bread these days!

Sorry, got lost in the memory...

Occasionally, different sites out them on sale! DMC is the only one I can remember specifically...they might be on sale this week. DMC is having a sale on accessories, I think...But I don't know for how long.

A quick Google brought up 123stitch.com, $2.99 ea....I didn't check it... ☺

Vecess I used to make homemade yeast bread every weekend--2 loafs of white and 1 cinn raisin. Keep my arms looking great with all that kneading!

I have made several bread cloths. Mine were quite simple, a corner design and a border. I used 14ct Aida cut a bit bigger than what I needed and then I pulled threads at the edge to make a small fringe effect on all 4 sides. I did not hem them.

I used to find them at Michaels. Now, I just use a length of Aida cloth, do a nice stitch (can't remember the name now...it'll come when I hang up) and stitch away!

Ahhh, Pam, there is no commercial bread that compares adequately with homemade. We have a bakery that comes fairly close, though. I buy the DD a loaf occasionally and steal 2 slices. That's plenty for my A1C...I only eat 1/2 of the very large, thick slices per day...toasted, liberally buttered. No is jam, jelly, or honey. I just want the bread! 😄
