What does the count # mean? How do I figure out how small or large the stitches will be based on the count #

Hello,

The count refers to the squares per inch on the fabric. So a 14 count fabric means there are 14 squares per inch and a 28 count fabric means there are 28 squares per inch. The higher the count is for the fabric means you can fit more stitches in that one inch area. Here is a good article to explain it a little bit further:
