Oh man I have heard ankle breaks are amongst the most painful. I am glad you are feeling better. Welcome back.

Oh man! I know how bad that can be and I tripped over a curb 40 yrs. ago and as soon as you said that big ol’ throb in mine! It still bothers me today!

A broken ankle is no fun! I fell (at work) while walking across a parking lot when we had ice and 8" of snow on the ground. We had the Artic Express come down from Alaska on Thursday, Nov. 21, 1985 and stay for at least two weeks. On Saturday, Nov. 23, the U. of Wash. had to play a football game. There were two UW Police nearby who came over to check me out. One of them said I had a third knee. Yikes! They called for an ambulance to take me to the hospital ER. I had surgery the next morning to put in screws and wires. I spent ten days, then I was send home (Mom's) to recuperate. I didn't return to work until Feb. 01. I had no rehab.

I developed osteoarthritis in the ankle less than two years later. On Mar. 16, 1989, I had the ankle fused at the same hospital. I had three large screws put in the ankle. I now wear prescription shoes which Labor and Industries pays for once a year. I still have pain now and then.
