pattern
Is the pattern in colors or black and white. I had one pattern that was black and white and I finally had to quit working on it even after try using colored pencils to mark it. Thanks if anyone can answer my question

This pattern is a black and white chart and usually the backstitching and specialty stitches are in color. A lot of patterns these days are not printed in color due to the cost of printing it that way. I hope this information helps :) Thank you!

Stormy, you might try using a clear color sheet over the pattern....we used these sheets to help teach people to read.....their complaint was that the letters seemed to "crawl". The sheets tamed the letters and made the print pop. Copying to color paper would probably work, too. Not one color worked for every person with this problem, so they had all the primary colors....yellow, green, blue, red. Hope it works for you! :)

Maybe a sepia background would work?

Like Kristi said most patterns are printed in black and white now a days because of the cost. You might try getting the copy enlarged on your printer or at an office supply store. I have done that before and it helps.
