I found on Heaven and Earth Designs that the stitches were full cross stitches. This is a large project. 25 ct. Linen stitched over 1 thread according to the Designers website. This makes the 625 x 452 stitches 25 x 18 inches. It uses 90 different colors. The pattern is 53 pages long. it will take a long time, but it is so beautiful. Hope this helps a little.

I REALLY wanted to do this one. When I saw how big it was, I realized I would never finish it. Too bad.

HAED often uses 25 ct linen over one thread. The 90 colors & detail still exist. I would never have the patience!

Hello,

Heaven and Earth Designs are always stitched over 1 on 25ct. fabric. For some reason our website defaults it to 2 and the web guys are currently trying to figure out a way to correct this for us. Some ne code has to be written and it's a bunch of IS stuff that I don't really understand so I am just waiting for them to tell me that they have it fixed :) Hopefully soon!! But yes, Heaven and Earth Designs are all stitched over 1 on 25ct fabric.

So......if I wanted to stitch this on Aida, would/should I use 25 count as well? Or could I bring it up to say 18ct?

Would it look as good if I did the above???

Marlene

PS: don't worry ladies! I have enough to do for now.........was just wondering as I've only ever used Aida.

MARLENE -- This is a huge project. As far as I know there is no 25 ct Aida. You would have to do 18 or 28. A word of advice, try to finish at least at one of your big projects before you even think about buying another project. I am afraid that you are going to make yourself a crazy person

Your friend in stitches

PS you might have to take out a second mortgage to buy all that floss.

I think 20 ct is the finest Aida. And, there's a 22 ct hardanger. Still big with lots of colors.

LOL!! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Nancye! While I AM enticed.....I have MORE than enough for now!!

My BIGGEST project is finishing my LPN refresher course!!! While I'm doing that, getting in much better shape so I CAN go back to work to get even a FIRST mortgage!!

Getting in better shape starts with knee #2 getting replaced on July 7th; then being able to walk better, I can start walking FARTHER than 1/2 a block!!

Was just wondering if you COULD use different fabric then what the pattern stated.

Thanks for keeping my grounded!

MARLENE -- The rules are that there are no rules. You can stitch any pattern on just about any fabric.
