Stitching time
How many hours would it take to stitch this picture? If I start now can it be done by Christmas?

This pattern can be done in a few days if you keep at it. It is not by the hour but what can you do in an hour.
Have fun.

Are you sure, Miss C? 12,500+ stitches and 26 colors, some backstitches...it may be 8x8 but it's pretty intense for "a few days"... I bow to your superior know-how, but I'm SLOW! By Thanksgiving, sure! That's averaging 100+ stitches per day... :) LOTS of family time and holidays between now and then...

It's very cute, worth a valiant-try! :)

The picture of this design here gives it a much smaller appearance than it actually is in size and looks not much bigger than a drink coaster, lol. Since the center of this design is densely stitched, this may take some time investment and really depends on the amount of time you can sit at once and keep stitching without interruption. The normal rule of thumb is one square inch of stitching +/- in an hour on average, some people stitch faster, some slower. I do, however, think that by Christmas is very do-able. Try to not worry about the time too much and enjoy the project unless it is for a gift, of course. I just received a much larger design today by this same designer and her chart was exceptional quality with comfortable, very readable sized symbols. Happy stitching.

How much time do you have to get this done? Remember, if your intention is to have it framed you will have to have it down before Thanksgiving. Can you committee enough time or will you have to be committed because you are pushing yourself.

It is a very cute pattern. Almost every space will be stitched. If you enjoy the challenge you should definitely go for it. Otherwise, there is always next Christmas.

There are 12,544 stitches. There are 108 days until Thanksgiving. Can you do 116 stitches per day? That is counting time for ripping mistakes?

Whatever you decided -- it looks like something fun to stitch.

cat lover -- you and I were responding at the same time.

Forgot to mention. Stitched area is 8 x 8 inches. Be sure to add wiggle room for finishing. You need a piece of fabric that is 14 x 14 inches.
