fabric
I would like to know if I can use aida or another fabric other than the afghan for this pattern. I am not interested in making an afghan but do like the animal patterns.

According to the afghan that is suggested by Everything to use for this book and is out of stock here anyway, it is 6"x6" squares on 14 count. I am attaching a link for you to copy and paste into your browser so that you can look at the stitch counts for each design by the company who designed this book. Each small design ranges around 68 to 81 stitches in height and width max which is about 4.75" to no more than 5.75" in each direction except for the sampler. I hope this helps and happy stitching to you. https://store.stoneycreek.com/book-455-woodland-babies-p14126.aspx

You could put the designs on top of each other and make a long bellpull style hanging

you could do, say, four of the designs and frame them each separately

you could do four of the designs on one piece of fabric and frame it as one picture

maybe adding a small (vine?) border in between the pieces

Although the description says it is an afghan the individual squares probably have it's own chart. Therefore, you could stitch on aida or other fabric.

In fairness, to ECS and Kristi I want to point out that the description for the patterns they sell comes from the manufacturer or designer.
