TIPS FOR STITCHING WITH LUMIÈRE
I use shorter threads, wax them with Thread Heaven, loop one single strand through the eye so that it’s knotted there. I use a needle one size larger than I’d usually use to open the hole a bit wider. These steps remove most of the problems of stitching with this type of thread.
After you’ve used the Thread Heaven or Thread Magic run the thread through your thumb and first finger to remove any excess wax.

Not familiar with this product...sounds familiar, but I can't grab onto what might be a memory...☕, I need coffee!

Thread heaven is a type of wax like product that you pull your thread through VCESS . I
do it 3x and is makes the metallic threads easier to work with. I’ve heard people say that it causes the threads to dull etc in colour but I have never noticed this, ever! I’ll see if I can find a picture of it for you. I get mine from eBay.
Couldn’t get the picture to paste on here but found it on Google.

Sorry, Thread Heaven, yes...Lumiere? No bells. I'm really slow on the uptake today, as most days...but annoying myself today! Stayed up most all night watching very bad Dracula movies and stitching, of course... 😊

Lumière thread has silversparkles in it VCESSI’ve ordered DMC E5200.....might tweed it with E3747 for a more shadowy effect. I already have that.

Is Lumiere a metallic thread? If you weren't in the chat during our chat disaster and our response, Thread Heaven CLOSED their entire business!!! All of us who use it seem to want to use it with every kind of floss. I have only 2 left, but my plan will probably consist of beeswax for DMC, just a little coating and saving my Thread Heaven for metallics like Kreinik.
Tell us about Lumiere. Where is it made? Does it catch and frizzle like Kreinik? Never knew of it.

Hi Su, Good heavens.....how awful. I looked it up and it’s now being sold with the new name Thread Magic....in the U.K. ......don’t know about the US.

Are you sure it was because of that thread we had a year or so ago that it was closed down. I’m sure those of us that use it frequently realised that there was a lot of 'hot air' blowing around at that time.

Lumière is like metallics . If you have a DMC colour chart fold out book, it’s at the back.....ah it’s called light effects gloss in English.....and very similar in it’s behaviour' to metallic thread.

I just checked eBay in Canada and the US and both of them have Thread Magic.
