I saw a couple today in the thrift store (I visit about once a month). There's a little corner for sewing supplies. I check out the old counted cross stitch patterns/kits that are donated and sometimes come across the frames. Unfortunately, I didn't pick them up. I didn't need them, they were too small. I did buy a little larger one for the polar bear ornament I just finished. The frame was with a Dale Barnette (I think that's right) kit. I wasn't interested in the country goose but for $1 it worked out perfectly. I will say, the thrift stores connected with religious organizations seem to have a better supply of needle work items.

Please try Google. Just enter 2" x 2.5" oval picture frames.
There are many sellers of frames that are not common sizes. Look at them.
The customer services are a big help!
I would start this search for Christmas gifts in September or October.
