Needlepaints
I recently bought the Celtic Autumn pattern. I've previously done Celtic Noel and am working on Celtic Spring. However, this pattern has 6 symbols for Needlepaints 2001 to 2006. I can't find them on your website and my store doesn't know what they are. What are they and how can I get them?

Hello,

Yes, unfortunately, we do not carry those on our website. Needlepaints is a specialty thread that is 100% Egyptian cotton, dyed in Japan, and processed in the United States. They are available in 10-meter skeins. I just did a quick Google Search for "Needlepaint Thread" a few stores came up that carries them. Stoney Creek was one of them.
Hope this helps!

Needlepaints were hand dyed flosses designed by Marilyn Imblum specifically for her designs because DMC didn't have the range of purples and blues she was looking for at that time.

The Robin's Egg range is almost impossible to find, but there are some of the 2000 range still around. Try Traditional Stitches in Canada.

Hi, Pook! Welcome to ChitChat. I have stitched Celtic Autumn, and loved it. I did use the Needlepaints threads. As MissKitty noted in her comment, they are threads specifically made for Marilyn Leavitt Inblum, designer, of Told in a Garden. I checked out Stoney Creek's thread section and they have them all listed as out of stock indefinitely, but they do list DMC conversion numbers if you would like to use DMC instead. The DMC thread colors (which are all in the purple and blue families) won't be as vivid as the Needlepaint thread, however.

Could you do something like this on 16 ct?

Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions. I found the Needlepaint colors I needed on a website that specializes in the artist"s work. They had the colors I needed and I ordered them but they were expensive to have mailed as the location was in Canada. I can't wait to see them.

In answer to the question about 16 count fabric. My fabric is 18 count (maybe 22, I can't remember, it seems pretty small), so I'm sure 16 count would be okay but a bit larger. The recommendation is for 28 count linen over two threads, so that is the same as 14 count. I've worked with that but I prefer the 18 count. I've been cross stitching for 42 years and my eyes are still fine but my hands and patience aren't as good as they used to be.

I saw the summer pattern and it is beautiful also. What kind of stitches are in the Autumn pattern? I would hate to start something and not be able to get the thread.

I can't find my pattern for Celtic Autumn right now. But in looking at my stitching, it looks like it's all full cross, some backstitching, lots of metallic threadwork, and LOTS of beads. There are beads throughout the dress and the borders.

Hi,
I have done my research and found the DMC conversion:
2001 = 3743
2002 = 160
2003 = 161
2004 = 158
2005 = 823
2006 = 939
2101 = 927
2102 = 926
2103 = 502
2104 = 501
2105 = 500
2106 = 924

I hope this helps.
