Road trip
Well as we make our way to San Francisco, we stopped in a town called Santa Nella , & had Anderson Split Pea Soup, growing up in upstate New York, my grandmother used to make this for those cold winter days & we’re staying at a really nice RV Village for the night 🤗

Hi Janice,
I live in the SF Bay area in the east bay. I've seen the roadside signs for Anderson's and wondered about them. Did you enjoy your meal? You're not that far of a drive to SF now but there's plenty of stops if you are able to travel where you want without a strict time schedule. Enjoy SF...I've lived here for about 39 years and really haven't been a tourist...maybe when my husband retires I'll finally get to know SF like a local.

Oh, that looks familiar! I just made a pot of pea soup last week. It's one of our favorites during the Winter months, and I make it quite often. I'm glad you are enjoying your trip so far, Janice.

I enjoyed the picture along with the update, makes me feel like you're taking us along. I've never had pea soup and DH doesn't like peas. I doubt if a canned version is as good as homemade. Anyone want to share recipe? :) Liz

Janicelinton,
If you don't mind me asking, where in upstate NY are you from? My husband grew up in the Finger Lakes Region. Most of his family is still up there. It is a beautiful place to visit.

I am going to stow away on your next trip! I am glad you all are having a good time. My mom used to make pea soup once a year and it was so good. Be safe. Pam

My favorite city. Not miss the Japanese Tea Garden and hopefully things are blooming. So many things to do and see.

Janicelinton,

You'll have great time...lots of fun stuff to see and do! Make sure you make it Alcatraz......I recommend it to anyone who come to the Bay Area.

Have a great time!
