An Oak a Cross Stitch Pattern by Stitcherhood, The
"An Oak" is a simple, yet lovely, cross stitch design featuring an old oak tree either under a setting sun or beneath a giant full moon.
First model is stitched on 14 count white Aida cross stitch fabric and stitched in DMC #310 (black) and #832 (gold).
Second model (same design) is stitched on 14 count black Aida cross stitch fabric and stitched in DMC #646 (grey) and white.
Feel free to substitute colors and fabrics to your taste.
All stitches are cross stitch.

It's a challenge!!
I'm doing it on a blue gray 18 count linen with an overdyed thread (blackboard from WDW) for the tree and a very pale yellow for the moon (sun, whatever). The thread gives a nice dappled appearance to the tree and I like it against the linen. Using one colour requires a lot of counting to get the breaks in the leaves properly. But, missing a stitch or two and moving things over doesn't seem to make a big difference.
In spite of this I am enjoying working it and watching it grow. Diane
