Carolyn's Balloons- Wintera Cross Stitch Pattern by Jan Hicks Creates

This design is the brain child of my friend Carolyn Zook. She gave me the idea, and helped me tweak it until we reached the design you see above. This is the second in the series, Winter. The model is stitched on 40 ct Stone linen by Fiber on a Whim using one strand of the called for overdyed cotton floss over two linen threads. Alternative fabrics: Stone is a pale greyish blue with slight mottling. This design would be lovely stitched on any color of grey, light or darker, as well as any shade of lighter or medium blue. I don’t recommend using a darker blue, so you don’t lose the look of the navy floss.
