Dimensions Kits/Feedback
Many of you may have already heard the news, but Dimensions Kits were sold off to a liquidator in 2025. Their remaining inventory is currently being sold off, and as far as we know, there will be no future production of new Dimensions designs or kits.

Dimensions has been such a beloved name in the cross-stitch community for decades, and we’re truly saddened to see them go. Their kits introduced so many stitchers to the hobby and inspired countless beautiful projects over the years.

We’d love to hear from our stitching community:
**If you’ve stitched a Dimensions kit before, what did you love most about them?**

Was it:
• The designs they offered?
• The fabric they used?
• The materials included in the kits?
• The overall quality?
• The customer service?
• Something else entirely?

And if there was anything you didn’t love, we’d love to hear that too.

While we know nothing could truly replace a Dimensions product, we’re always looking for ways to provide products our customers will love. Your feedback could help us better understand what stitchers value most in a kit.

💬 Please share your thoughts in the comments , we’d really appreciate hearing your experiences! Thank you!

Kristi, I hadn't heard about this and am disappointed! Thanks for sharing the news, I'll have to browse around online and at Hobby Lobby for kits I might want.

I've done several Dimensions kits and have been pleased with the products. I have a couple of kits from the 1990s / early 2000s that were thrift store purchases, and more recently I worked on Snowman's Kiss and Santa's Midnight Ride. The fabric was decent quality, though admittedly I usually switched it out for other fabric due to personal preference (I prefer 16-count fabric, stitching on Lugana or Jobelan rather than Aida, and I like wider margins than the kit fabric usually had). Although Dimensions used their own floss (not DMC or Anchor), I had no problem with the quality or quantity of floss and always used it (I know some stitchers won't use kit floss). Their customer service was also very good -- a couple of times I ran out of a color of floss and when I'd contact Simplicity (parent company of Dimensions) through the website I'd get an email response within a day and additional floss in the mail within a few days. On another occasion, I needed a copy of the chart to replace a damaged page, and I received the chart via email within a few hours.

The only thing I didn't love about Dimensions kits was that they often used French knots -- French knots and I are mortal enemies : ) but I've always substituted Mill Hill beads and they look very nice.

Thank you for the Dimensions kits liquidation information. I had not heard of this before. I've stitched some Dimensions Kits over time. I liked them. I never ran out of floss when I used the enclosed floss. I later found out about converting their brand to DMC by going online (the company excapes me now) and never running out of floss. I know alot of stitchers complained about running out of their floss.

Oh, another thing I liked about Dimensions kits is that they rarely used fractional stitches (quarter- or three-quarter stitches) -- they use backstitching to create the appearance of fractional stitches.

I've done quite a few Dimensions kits and have some still in my stash. I really like their designs and colours and they usually turn out exactly as shown. I have not had any problem with their thread or run out of it. The gold collections are particularly beautiful. I am disappointed that they have gone.

Dimensions was a great company when they were in Reading, PA. They had so many good kits and patterns. Then they sold to Wilton Brand/Ek Success not too bad, but when Simplicity stepped in the quality went downhill, they were not even coming out with new kits as much. I never ran out of floss but the quality of the fabric was poor and very few kit companies will give you more than 2" on each side they did have good customer service. I am currently stitching Eagle's Majesty but I bought another piece of fabric. Kathy

I have only done one Dimensions kit called "Glory of Autumn", which I gifted to my son. It came out beautifully, but I did run short of floss and used different fabric.

I just ordered a discontinued Dimensions kit off Ebay. I have three kits.in my stash. Always was totally happy with the company and sad to lose another mainstay and familiar name. Sigh. Pam

I have done a few of the Demsions kits but mine were baby quilts. The print on them was great, unlike another brand which I wont get again. I havent stitched in a while. My fingers are numb from chemo and also the print is very light so its hard to see.
