Elizabeth Brayton’s cushion, 1848a Cross Stitch Pattern by Crowsfeetstitching

The original sampler was stitched near Whitehaven in North West England by Elizabeth who was either the daughter of a farmer of several acres, or the daughter of an agricultural worker. Sadly, both girls died before they reached adulthood. I have not charted the bees or flies which Elizabeth stitched on her sampler above the fruit bowls. If you would like to add these to your sampler, I would suggest adding them randomly freehand, as Elizabeth did.
