Hold On To Your Socks a Cross Stitch Pattern by Modern Folk Embroidery

This very unique sampler - most likely 18th-century - features a series of so-called clox (or clocks) patterns. These designs were stitched or knit onto stockings. The pattern features the long designs (the clox) but it also features some borders that could be used at the top of a sock or at the end of knitted gloves. The pattern features only full crosses - no specialty stitches are required, and this design can be worked on both aida and linen.
