Complex and needs extra thread, but lovely
This is such a beautiful blessing. I made it as a wedding present for my daughter, and we both cried when I read it aloud at her shower. It's gorgeous.
I used the recommended colors. I added her name and the wedding date on the bottom row, after AMEN, there was plenty of room (I modified the month and day patterns for this.) But be aware you will need TWO skeins of the darker green, 3818, for the border pattern. (The key is not super-clear, but I used 909 for the lettering and 3818 for the border.)
Be aware that there are MANY half-stitches, and the Celtic knots around the border are not easy to sew. Also the silver thread is challenging to sew with. But the result was worth it!

Liked the verse, and in using the color suggested thought was sort of 'garish' . Substituted a different border using colors the bride liked. Looks nice framed (this is a gift) but wished I had used something other than the bright green.

Ok. Anyone out there who has made this?
I am getting ready to start this one, got most everything in one shipment; however I have a question…
There are 3 colors used; Silver Krenilick and 2 shades if green DMC 909 & 3818 respectively. I cannot differentiate between the 2 shades of green on the chart! Is EVERYTHING done in one color? There is only one symbol for stitching which is one of the greens. Everything else is back stitching.
Can anyone help?

What size would I need for 3" boarders, ea. side??

Pattern challenges
The pattern is not very clear and the instructions are minimal. One has to photocopy parts of the pattern that are printed back to back in order to get a sense of how it all fits together. I like the message and the border but would have liked to get instructions that are clear and a pattern that is set out in a way that the viewer can follow it and begin working it without the possibility of error resulting from the lack of clarity.
