Lavender-What Were They Thinking?

This reproduction sampler is one of a pair in my collection. They were stitched by the same person. Because of their charming simplicity and very poor stitching, I believe they were stitched by a child. The one we are working on now is even more charming, with more motifs, many of them being very whimsical animals. The strange title of this sampler is because lavender was only used once, in a flower on the left side. It was stitched on 28 Count "Lambswool" linen, using DMC, Weeks, and Sampler Threads. The stitch count is 98 Wide X179 High
