Fabric size

Pattern says 199 high x 145 wide 25 count dirty Dublin linen, with 3 inch on sides. What size fabric do I need to order ?

Did a calculation and it said I need 40x57. If my finished product is 18wx26-1/4, why do I need a piece so big? My stitches are 450wx658h on linen 25, white.

size of 25 count to order

What would be a good size of the 25 count Dublin? stitch count is 514 W by 541 H. The calculator indicated the fabric should be 46 x 48. I only see 1 yard by 55" or less.

Calculating Fabric

I am not good at figuring out how much fabric I need. I am wanting to use 25 ct linen and I would like 4 inches added to all sides. I have a pattern that is 450x338 stitches. I have figured I would need a piece 42x33. Do I need a whole yard of linen? Please help me out. Thank you so much

I have a pattern that calls for 25-count driftwood linen from Zweigart (stitch count 300H x 200W). I do not have access to a needlework shop in my community so cannot make comparisons between different materials from different manufacturers. Is the Wichelt 25 count Dublin linen a proper substitute?
