LOVE IT SO FAR
I STARTED THIS PROJECT A MONTH AGO.. SO FAR SO GOOD.. LOVE THE COLORS AND PATTERN IS EASY TO FOLLOW ONCE YOU GET THE HANG OF

Interesting
It took me almost 5 months to do the cross stitch and outline parts. I don't particularly enjoy doing the second layer of embroidery I have to do on top of the cross stitch (the Singer wording, the gold filigree on the sewing machine, and the yarn going across here and there). I wish they would pick a simpler method for the embroidery instead of using two needles. I also changed the needle to a less sharp needle or your fingers would be a pin cushion.

It is adorable. I will be stitching this for my granddaughter because she is a messmaker and loves cats. :( I will be doing it on linen and with DMC. Hate Aida and don't like kits but the pattern is so cute that I could not resist. Check back with me in a year or so. LOL Love ECS, great everything!

I love the Dimensions Gold designs- I've done 2 now. But the thread they give you is not the best quality (it thins and breaks easily. I always convert to DMC colors and use my own. I've quite a collection now!

Question about pattern
I am really enjoying this pattern and am over 3/4 finished. The only problem that I have is that there are things missing on the pattern. On the picture the word Singer is on the sewing machine along with pattern down the right side of the machine. This is not on my graph only the letter S in an oblong circle. Does any one else have this.

Dimension Designs
I also love the details of Dimension designs, but they NEVER put enough of their threads in to complete the project! They say they don't use DMC thread but you can order more from them if you run out. I ALWAYS run out! I have successfully matched MOST colors with DMC, but there are a few CRITICAL colors that you just cannot match!
IF YOU HAVE A CONVERSION CHART OF DIMENSION THREAD COLORS TO DMC COLORS I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE HAVING IT! PLEASE TELL ME WHERE TO GET IT.
I, too, find that this thread frays and breaks easily, especially if you have to remove stitches.
Thinking of doing this one for my granddaughters but see a NIGHTMARE of trying to replace threads I run short on!

couching vs. backstitching on lines
Hi,
I have been working on this pattern for 5 years!!! I do have some questions about the stitching and hope someone is willing to correspond with me. I sent an inquiry to the Wysocki site, before I saw this, but the more replies the better!
1--I'm not sure what to do with the ends of the threads in the single cross stitches of the wallpaper, since there's really nothing to hide them in. Should I knot them and cut close to the cloth?
2--I'm not sure about the 4 sets of 2 parallel marks in the x-stitch spots up in the left corner, where the handle meets the green box....are those couching marks? In the details section, I only see one sentence where it specifies couching, which are the "Remaining thin red lines" in tan couching. However, I don't even see where those are.
3--I understand about the cording where the yarn is on the pattern, but don't know where to do backstitching vs. couching. Is the couching done where the curvy lines are? Like the colored lines on the lampshade? However, I see that the thin red lines in the window are backstitched.
4--Maybe it's my vision, but it's difficult to discern the thick vs. thin lines at times, so I foresee that as a potential problem. Any suggestions?
