It's a commitment & a labor of love
First of all, this is solid cross stitching, no unstitched areas. This is the first time I have done anything like this and it is challenging. There are over 80 colors and a lot of constant color changes....lots of single stitches of one color. Definitely not a pattern for a beginner or someone who does not have some years of cross stitching under their belt. Lots to watch and count and many shades of same colors that make it hard at times to keep track of where you are. I learned to not stitch certain scattered stitches to use as "markers" for counting and locating other stitches until the area was done. This works really well for me.
The pattern is laid out beautifully and printed out on 18 pages making it easy to make a working copy. The symbols are easy to read, although I would have preferred different symbols that would have been easier to put in groups like upper case letters, lower case letters, symbols, numbers, etc. With so many colors, this would make it easier to organize and quickly find colors for whatever area I am working on. The whole packet of instructions, pattern, stitch counts and sizes are very well done.
It is challenging but I am totally enjoying working on it even though it's slow going. I would definitely get another pattern from Artecy. And the stitching is turning out like the picture.
