The design is embellished with 58 rich red MILL HILL antique seed beads. It is also adorned with 1 small metallic gold star (SB060MGS), 6 small white glitter snowflakes (SB080WGS) and 4 extra small white glitter snowflakes (SB0800WGXS). The snowflake and star embellishments are not available on our website but can be purchased on the Stoney Creek website. Or feel free to get creative and add any type of buttons or embellishments in place of those.

Be Creative

It took me 11 months to finish this. Not overly difficult, just need to pay close attention -like all projects. Are there mistakes, yes, much to my chagrin. I changed things up a bit because I wanted it a little more realistic. I changed the rabbit coloring to break up all the brown and most of our squirrels are gray. They worked well with each other. I think it looks better without the snowflakes but I did use one as the tree "topper" instead of the gold star. It looked natural to me. I am slowly getting braver at changing projects.

Easier Than It May Look

I stitched this in 2022 for a friend who loves vintage Santa's and woodland animals. I used a specialty 16 ct. fabric (English Winter Forest) from stitcheryexpress.com, which just made the project. Since the fabric included trees, I chose to omit a few from the pattern and did not use the snowflake buttons it called for. Don't be afraid to make it your own! As for my friend, she was absolutely thrilled with the results and displays in her home year-round.
