I'm pondering how to help this sad world. I can't make people change their behaviors. I can change my behavior. Think of an inhospitable environment, like a pot of boiling water. If you toss in an egg, it gets hard. If you toss in pasta, it gets soft. If you toss in a coffee bean, not only does it retain its character, but it affects the water so much that we don't even call it water anymore. It's coffee. I've been acting like pasta and losing myself by allowing events to flatten me. My strength has been compromised. I pray that God will use me like a coffee bean. I don't want to be thrown into boiling water, but He knows what's best for me and how much I can handle. Thy will be done. There's my prayer for the day.

I am weaning Sewn Blessings Fabric & Gifts, LLC off Etsy and having an independent website built! The transition will take 1-2 years to migrate my customer base from Etsy to the store. The best privilege of having an independent online store is I will have fabric reps help me curate my collection. Many won’t work with marketplace owners. I get to see the 2026 Thanksgiving/Christmas prints starting September 25 and have first pick of the inventory, a good three months before the public and Etsy owners can place their pre-orders. The grand opening is September 20, four months after the eye surgery and the day my good results are considered permanent. I can’t contain my excitement!

Happy first of September Monday morning everyone. The "ber" months are ahead and I have to say I'm happy about it. We are finally able to harvest our tomatoes and zucchini and it's time to dry herbs so today I will be doing that. It's time to mow again, too. Enjoy your Labor Day doing what brings you satisfaction and joy.

Good September eve Sunday morning. September is one of my favorite months of the year. We decided to bake our ham today, make homemade dressing, and of course pumpkin pie! The weather is supposed to be perfect the next couple of days so we'll be outside a lot. Hope everyone is having an excellent Labor Day weekend!
