Car Troubles
Last night I went to move the SUV in the garage further inside because storms would be happening later. We do this so my husband can move the truck into the garage just enough to protect the windshield from hail.
When I tried to start the car, there was a buzzing noise, the parking lights were flashing, and the dashboard had all these warning lights that lit up. My husband was standing in front of the car and witnessed the noisy light show.
We already had an appointment at the dealer's for tomorrow morning for a routine oil change. We tried to start the car today and zero lights. Now, we have a tow truck scheduled for 8 a.m. tomorrow morning.
We are thankful the car malfunctions happened at home and not on the street in the pouring rain or extreme heat. We keep a blessed St. Christopher medal in the SUV and pray to him for safe journeys. We also give thanks to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for watching over us.
What I told my husband was the dashboard never gave us any warning signals that anything was wrong. This car even tells the driver that Roads May Be Icy. So all this took us completely off guard. Car troubles are not fun when they come as a surprise.

Just Like Apples π
There are bad ones and good ones. πΈ Around Christmas time, I posted here that I found this little guy in a Dollar Tree store. This was my first time stitching on plastic canvas.
I liked stitching with yarn. The pattern was difficult to read so I took a picture of it, and zoomed in on it. I learned frogging yarn can be difficult. I didn't want to give him an orange tongue. I Googled frogs and looked at pictures. I decided on red, but I didn't want to buy a big yarn ball for 10 stitches. I Googled some more and found the little kids Creatology package. Took a drive to my local Michaels store & there it was.
I didn't trust myself to cut out the outline so I left it in the square shape. I went on You Tube and learned how to stitch around the edge to cover it up. I used DMC tapestry wool for the edge.
Then I decided I wanted to fill in the background with a shade of blue to represent sky or water. This is where I nearly gave up on the idea. I know nothing about yarn weights, materials or textures. I was overwhelmed at Joanns, and I couldn't find the right shade and texture. (This was after liquidation had started.) I settled on light blue yarn at Walmart. I don't knit or crochet so I was in a huge rabbit hole on this one.
This was my first time doing tent stitch. Cool! But then I saw the light green of froggy's face blended with light blue. Soooo..I got out my DMC 700 Green Size 8 Cotton Perle floss and backstitched the outside of him. He is my first full coverage piece. LOL!
I bought the froggy fabric from Joann Fabric and used a blanket stitch to attach it to the back. I sewed the ribbon on to the inside hem of fabric before attaching the back.
I learned that I have limited knowledge of yarn. After this project, I know I will stick to cross stitch floss with numbers. I actually found myself wishing there was a guide to finding yarn Brands and colors related to just the primary colors. If it's out there, I couldn't find it! I have learned that I do not wish to start a yarn stash. I have DMC floss, Etoile floss, Perle cotton, tapestry wool, metallic floss, beads, felt, cross stitching fabric, and sewing fabric and thread stashes already! (I only bought the tapestry wool because it was marked down at Joann stores so my collection of five or six colors of these is small.)
My little froggy taught me so much! πΈ π πΈ He's so cute! β€

My Nannyberry is blooming.
Itβs native to Ontario. Itβs an easy shrub. I like the early bloom. Has berries for the birds in the fall. Itβs so nice to have leaves and flowers again on everything! I love this time of year.
GOOD MORNING - What's on your mind FRIDAY
Good Friday morning everyone. Today is the day "The Queen of Hearts" will be finished. This cool, cloudy weather has certainly added more stitching time. Starting Monday we will finally be in the 80's and more outside time and hopefully a fishing outing. Today is some light chores and later beanie weenie night. Happy Friday!

I am not seeing the items that would be needed to complete this project as I normally see with other patterns. Is that list available? Thank you.

Yesterday- A Nice Day
Hello to all. I am off until next Tuesday. Yesterday, my nephew graduated with a Masters in Science degree, π§πΎβπand I had the pleasure of being there with him, his parents, and his sister. To say I am proud is an understatement. This is the nephew who drove me to appointments, did his papers while waiting for me in the doctorβs office, picked me and my sisters up after my surgery, and helped me get up when I was too weak to stand. A good kid. And I love him. π₯° I helped his mom and dad when he was a newborn and now look at him. I overheard my BIL say to my sister, βI think this means that we did a good job.β ππ½ I took the rest of the week off and will return on Tuesday. Yesterday was a long day but a good one. I am stitching an interesting fox π¦ pattern. Have a good day everyone.
